چکیده

ABSTRACT The long-period (P = 1091 s) of the recently discovered pulsar GLEAM-X J162759.5–523504.3 can be attained by neutron stars evolving with fallback discs and magnetic dipole moments a few 1030 G cm3 at ages greater than ?2 × 105 yr consistently observational upper limits to period derivative, $\dot{P}$, X-ray luminosity, LX, source. current for $\dot{P}$ allow two alternative present states: (1) disc is still active ongoing accretion low rate such that luminosity much less star’s cooling which in turn below limit LX. In this scenario, spin-down will continue $\dot{P}\sim 10^{-10}$ s s?1 until becomes inactive; final P ? 103 s. (2) already inactive, there no accretion. case, evolution has levelled off observed value range. remaining, very weak, torque sustains asymptotic 4 \times 10^{-18}$ s?1. Long periods were predicted states soft gamma repeaters anomalous pulsars relatively strong fields earlier work model.

The Evolution of Long-Period Comets

We study the evolution of long-period comets by numerical integration of their orbits, a more realistic approach than the Monte Carlo and analytic methods previously used to study this problem. We follow the comets from their origin in the Oort cloud until their final escape or destruction, in a model solar system consisting of the Sun, the four giant planets and the Galactic tide. We also exam...

A review of x-ray spectral evolution in Crab pulsar

Pravdo et al (1997) claimed that the phase resolved x-ray spectrum in Crab pulsar (PSR B0531+21) shows a spectral hardening at the leading edge of the first peak of its integrated profile (IP); this was a new and unexpected result. This article reanalyzes their data, as well as some other related data, and argues that the spectrum is as likely to be unvarying (i.e., neither hardening nor soften...

On the Evolution of Pulsar

We have analyzed polarization data for a large number of isolated pulsars to investigate the evolution of pulsar radio beams. Assuming that a circular beam is directed along the axis of a dipolar magnetic eld, we demonstrate that the distribution of magnetic inclination angles for the parent population of all pulsars is not at but highly concentrated towards small inclination angles and that, c...
